What is a Community Fridge and Pantry?

A community fridge and pantry is a grass-roots, mutual aid resource designed to provide immediate, barrier-free food access directly from neighbor to neighbor. Built on the simple principle of "give what you can, take what you need," it offers fresh food and essential groceries to anyone who needs them—with no sign-ups, eligibility requirements, or red tape involved.

This movement is entirely run by and for the community. Located at everyday accessible spots—such as the Bosler Memorial Library in Carlisle—these spaces belong to everyone. Whether you are stopping by to pick up ingredients for dinner or dropping off extra groceries to share, participating helps keep the community fed, reduces food waste, and fosters a sustainable, dignified support network built on neighbors helping neighbors.

*Bosler Library is our host site, but has no affiliation with the community fridge or Feed Carlisle.

To keep this resource safe for everyone, we have daily pantry checks from our volunteer pantry stewards, as well as very specific donation guidelines. Please read them before donating.
